This project involved designing the NCERT Vocational Education textbook for Class 9. With the book reaching millions of students nationwide, the focus was on creating an engaging and accessible learning experience through a clear visual system, strengthened visual language, and simplified content presentation.

Project Brief
Divided into three broad units, the Class 9 textbook introduces students to multiple vocations across varied sectors. The project focused on designing unit separators that visually summarise all vocations within each unit at a glance, as well as a main cover that captures the core spirit of the book. At its heart, this was a design-simplification exercise,
transforming dense educational content into accessible, cohesive, and student-friendly visuals.

Multiple options were explored for the unit separator infographic. The brief was to create a final design that was easy to understand and visually engaging. The separator would remain consistent across all three units.
The final concept presented each unit as part of a larger circle or ecosystem, suggesting that this particular vocation is one part of a wider network of vocations available across the different units.
The process behind the making of the cover—
Several dynamic routes were explored during the cover design process.
After multiple rounds of feedback and discussion with the stakeholders, the final
design was approved.
